Nah, just trees in the forest twisting around to see if they can fall
without
making any noise:-)

Sad to say that this is par for the course for the last 8+ years or so. It
is
almost like a poster to this news group will contract leprosy and all are
frightened it will be them... These are good people who were kind and
helpful to me and I appreciate and miss them.

This is not the only one that has been quiet. Too bad - it would be nice to
hear from some of the old viners again and see if we could get something

And there is just so much to write about.

I keep wanting to say something about Cheney shooting his buddy but just

Yes, but its always like that. Lets see, any comment on the Ports
management fiasco? I have just been shaking my head in disbelief at some of
the stuff going on in our government - kind of makes you yearn for the days
of the stain on the blue dress - things were so much simpler then... (big

Oh yeah. I'm not concerned about specific nations owning our ports. I
don't think any foreign nation should own any of our ports. The whole thing
makes me more than a bit nervous.

Yes, there has only been one more and it was a mile and a half away,
and the wind was blowing away from us. It did take the power out for
about an hour.

Very, they have been very good. They liked the way I filed the claim.
I had prepared the inventory and for most items I had found the
replacement on the Internet, and printed out the web page that I
attached to the claim. Eight days after the fire I took the inventory
and the receipts that I already had to the adjuster a little after
nine in the morning. I ask him how long it would be before I got a
check because I was running out of ready cash. He said that he would
bring a check by the house that afternoon. He showed up a little
after 3 that afternoon with a check for over $10,000. The really bad
part was that I had $2,000 deductible.

Jim - where abouts are you located (general area)? Hate to hear of anyone
being that close to wildfires. We are already having fires popping up
around Colorado, and we are 3 months away from "fire season". The mountains
are ok right now, there has been a lot of snow up there, but we haven't had
any good moisture for a long time. It could be a long dry spring and
summer.

I live in Mustang Oklahoma. It is about 15 miles WSW from downtown

Rodgers Air Port. Or you can put "722 N. Morgan Rd, Mustang, OK" in

Who was your insurer?
State Farm.
Excellent. My homeowner's policy has been with them since
1979. Strangely, earlier today, I stopped by the local agent's office
and will be probably changing my car insurance policy from Geico to
State Farm. Geico's commercials annoy me, and I'm tired of funding
them!

I'd put through a home burglary claim with State Farm in 1994,
and the service was excellent! I'm glad the same was true in your
case. ;)

the names there as many of them were on the mindspring groups.

I began with AOL and then AT&T. From there, I went the
pipeline, mindspring, earthstink route. Where I live now, we have no
cable or dsl access. I struggled with dialup for the first year I was
here, but I found it to be so slow that I basically gave up using the
internet. That was unacceptable to me so I finally bit the financial
bullet and signed up for direcway satellite service. It's good, but
not as fast as my DSL in Miami was. :(

Is colomoon (and now I *get it*) the name you used for those
occasional mindspring posts?

Goin' back to Colorado ... do you live in a small town, or one
of the big ones? Watching the moon rise over the mountains must be
breathtaking, and if you're in a small town, the stars must be
spectacular at night. That's one of the things I do like about my town
now; it was just too darn bright in Miami to appreciate the stars.

Well, I've babbled long enough. ;)

I haven't been to misc.news.internet.discuss but someone else mentioned it,
so maybe I should go lurk there sometime just to see what everyone is up to.

I think it would very hard to give up the internet - I just use it too much,
both at work and at home.

Yes, colomoon is the name I used. I started that on Pipeline and keep using
it. There's a whole long, old story about that, but I won't go into that
here.

I live in the southeast Denver metro area so we see the moon setting over
the mountains, which is spectacular sometimes, and I found a place out east
about 30 miles that is at the top of a rise that is far enough away to get
away from the city lights to see the stars and you can really get a good
view of the moon coming up - in the fall the full moon looks huge. The best
place to see the stars is up in the mountains.where you can really get away
from the lights.

What kind of show, Moni?
I am a music teacher at a local high school. We have our big (70 kids)
review this weekend. I'm looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow after
closing night! ;) I used to be fmomoon and hung around here back in the
day.

I'm still trying to figure out who is whom. John is the only
one here I *know* but I'm not shy, so speak up. ;)

Oh, you are so, so lucky to have such a talent! I am green
with envy. I hope the review went well.

What instruments do you play, and did you take lessons to
learn?

What does fmomoon *stand for*? <g>

The revue went quite well. We were sold out all three nights. But I am so
very glad to have my evenings back. :)

I play piano, guitar and flute. But mainly I sing. I studied all of those
instruments (plus a few others) in college, but voice was my main focus from
the time I was about 10.

F*ryman M*addern O*Reilley (which are the three last names around here) and
the moon came from all the moons in this group, actually. ;)

The moon part goes back to the story about colomoon - we had a whole bunch
of moon names at one time.

Ah, yes, home - think we need to find the brooms and get rid of some of
these cobwebs? The front porch might need a new coat of paint...who's got
the brownies?

Aha! We are home! I'm barely home, with a show running this week, but so
what else is new?

Don't have any, but I'll eat them. ;) Anyone up for a space ship adventure
or something?
