I haven't been to misc.news.internet.discuss but someone else mentioned it,
so maybe I should go lurk there sometime just to see what everyone is up to.
I think it would very hard to give up the internet - I just use it too much,
both at work and at home.
Yes, colomoon is the name I used. I started that on Pipeline and keep using
it. There's a whole long, old story about that, but I won't go into that
here.
I live in the southeast Denver metro area so we see the moon setting over
the mountains, which is spectacular sometimes, and I found a place out east
about 30 miles that is at the top of a rise that is far enough away to get
away from the city lights to see the stars and you can really get a good
view of the moon coming up - in the fall the full moon looks huge. The best
place to see the stars is up in the mountains.where you can really get away
from the lights.

Post by Just JudyPost by colomoonI remember you from some on the newsgroups on mindspring,
Uh-oh! <g>
Post by colomoonbut I usually just
lurked in most of them.
It should would be interesting to know the number of regular
lurkers in any group. Have you been over to
misc.news.internet.discuss. You'd probably recognize quite a few of
the names there as many of them were on the mindspring groups.
Post by colomoonI posted to the vine from the time it was on
Pipeline through going to mindspring, to earthlink, but left for comcast
when it became available in my area. It was very hard to give up my
pipeline address - I felt like I "grew up" with that address in regards to
being on the internet/web.
I began with AOL and then AT&T. From there, I went the
pipeline, mindspring, earthstink route. Where I live now, we have no
cable or dsl access. I struggled with dialup for the first year I was
here, but I found it to be so slow that I basically gave up using the
internet. That was unacceptable to me so I finally bit the financial
bullet and signed up for direcway satellite service. It's good, but
not as fast as my DSL in Miami was. :(
Is colomoon (and now I *get it*) the name you used for those
occasional mindspring posts?
Goin' back to Colorado ... do you live in a small town, or one
of the big ones? Watching the moon rise over the mountains must be
breathtaking, and if you're in a small town, the stars must be
spectacular at night. That's one of the things I do like about my town
now; it was just too darn bright in Miami to appreciate the stars.
Well, I've babbled long enough. ;)
